Poetry Corner - Lilac Dusk
Another talented friend is Steven Ilchev who was inspired to write this wonderful poem by my painting Lilac Dusk.FROM LILAC DUSKY ZONES UNTO ENGROSSING FUTURISTIC DOMAINS WE COAST
STEVEN ILCHEV, 2008
Have we ever asked ourselves why reflections always seem to back-chat
Our supposedly creative sentences in times when our child-like eyes
Make steaming love to enrapturing mirroring waters somewhere so
Escapist-ridden, somewhere mauve and never simple
A place that transcends the value of home’s comforts?
From such domains we project millennia tendencies beyond our scope
Of basic understanding, so basic that it’s really muddled until we coast
Unto a dusky zone, so flaming mauve and never simple, so inviting
That it gives us ripples as we touch that so intangible tree-statue that multiplies
Before our brumous visibility until it is so oddly clear that we roam throughout
Its hard-core reality without the companionship of blinding fear!
Why? Why do places such as this exist as if to overstate the Orient’s
Allure – the Orient of our salivating perceptions cling-filmed in blissful ignorance?
The very ignorance that’s so ingenious because it leads us to the stone-cold realism
System of cells in an enclosure that delimitates our longing for escapist routes
That are the essence of who we are and who we’ve always tried to be!
We take our most beloved faunas some of whom are terribly human
To the secret very timeless lilac dusky zones we cannot forget
Because we cannot simmer thoughts so atremble yet so steady
As we lie face down reciting niggling poesy until the
Aphrodisiacal-powered, gorgeously brash lake sweetly back-chats
Our buttermelting obstinate creativity to the point of chiming laughter!
Have we ever wondered how mauve our safety-net escapist routes are?
Have we ever bothered to embrace that visual sensation? We somehow find our limbs teleport us
Right there when the beauty trees seem so barren and forsaken, when the usually
Assuasive lakes are nothing short of affront-wielding triangle tsunami foes instigated
By Poseidon’s temperament!
Oh, welcome to the futuristic domains unto which we’ve coasted ever so softly
From the riveting lilac dusky zones we once escaped to
In order to never be quite the same again, a thought that
Every self-loving child-like somewhat human fauna should
Never ever take for granted!
Oh, welcome back our dusky zones so simply mauve yet not too basic
So inviting that they give us ripples in times when our broad child-like eyes
Make steaming love to enrapturing mirroring waters somewhere
So escapist-ridden in a sorcerous place
That transcends the value of home’s
Pearly-white comforts!
